I was listening to Greg Koukl's podcast yesterday and he had a personal take on the Bob Dylan major motion picture biopic that came out a few months ago. First of all, I'd mentioned Mr. Koukl in my latest home page piece in the context of his unwillingness to call out the Roman Catholic Church for what it really is, only because his tax-exempt non-profit relies on the ecclesiocratic hegemony and all its devout followers to fund his enterprise. Otherwise, he does do pretty decent explication of Christian things. In this instance he pointed out how influential Dylan was on a whole generation, there in the 60s, but that the foolish idealism that exuded from that whole mentality is so destructive. He specifically noted the zealous insistence that young people were going to save the world, and then asked the important question. "Do you know why young people will not save the world?" I simply have to direct you to this article over at ZeroHedge , one that comprehensively lays out the ironclad economic laws related to price controls. There are a number of things that should be augmented to make this idea much more clear. First , note all the imaginative ways value assignments have been messed with in the worst ways. For forty centuries leaders with their hands on the reins of the economy try to show how blangdanimously magnanimous they were by effing with the transcendent value assignments, valid value assessments, and vibrant economic interactions of their people. I can't help but begin this follow-up post to the latest in my "We're all just trollees" thread with this screenshot of a video showing a toddler being fitted with glasses so he could see, for what is effectively the first time ever. It is just heart-rendering to watch, and see the smile on his face when he can see, especially since his first clear sight is that of his beaming parents. The reason I'm leading with this simply amazing photograph is I definitely see this as a tremendously profound metaphor for what happens when Christ gives sight to not only the blind, but to the wicked, the foolish, the devious, and the stupid. Out on my walk I came upon a nice looking young couple from behind -- the woman pushing a stroller and the man walking a dog on a leash. I thought, how nice, they've got a small child... until the gal turned around and the stroller was empty. It was for the dog . The dog then hopped in and the couple then went back the other way. This is just an anecdotal story and this couple may be planning to have children or they may even have them back home being watched by grandma while they are out. They may also be unable to have children for whatever reason, but it makes me think about how many young adults hypnotized by the Frankfurt School dogma are swearing off having children because of things like their perceptions of climate change or the bothersome intrusions of the oppressive heteropatriarchy. The Oscar awards were on the other night and while a long time ago when I was a starry-eyed kid enjoying the movies and actually getting into those awards, now I don't pay any attention to any of it at all. I actually looked and I could only find four decent movies that won the best picture award over the past 20 years or so. The rest were either garbage or, if I didn't see them, they were about a theme that was garbage. For instance a film I did not see,  12 Years a Slave,  may have been a wonderful story about a courageous  man seeking his freedom in a world of injustice -- I get all that, that's fine. Last night I could not sleep, so for a bit I got up and did some web searching, but I was up during the time that Saturday Night Live was on the television, at least at the time it had been on in the past. Sure enough I'd noticed it was on at that time, from 11:30 to 1:00. I had not seen any part of an SNL show for many years, yet over those years I'd heard some things about it particularly related to its more controversial skits. So last night I thought I'd take a peek, just to see what it was like now. When I switched to the right channel a gal who I thought I heard called "Willow" did some singing. The song was the typical edgy one SNL has always been known to present from their musical guests, but the second one she sang a bit later in the show was just a stream of incomprehensible yelling and screeching into the microphone. What I found interesting is after each song she smiled and bowed to the audience, almost as if to virtue-signal "Look at me, just so...

From what I hear, tonight US President Joe Biden is supposed to give some major speech, something about bringing back the soul of the country or something. His people have so effed up the country, here's to hoping it is about healing and reconciliation. To that end here's what I'm expecting him to say, after all the introductory pleasantries: "I am completely rescinding all the massive federal payouts that really amount to robust racketeering activity. All the insane corporate welfare payments, all the 'inflation reduction' climate change hysteria giveaways, and especially anything related to things like student debt relief which is so brazenly unfair. There is a scene in the film All the President's Men when Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, working hard to find the good dirt on President Richard Nixon, are making their way to the house of one of Nixon's administrative operatives to try to get him to talk. As they stroll along the front of these spiffy-looking Brownstone-like homes, one of them remarks about the people inside, just living their lives, doing their thing, mostly oblivious to what is really going on outside of their cognitive domain. I think about this very brief, seemingly incidental scene quite often. I do so when looking into the eyes of so many people I encounter. I look and I just see so much ugliness and darkness in there, there in their souls. It doesn't matter how smiley they are or how well their hair is coiffed or how nicely dressed they are. They are ultimately all about wreaking havoc on the rest of the world in whatever way their psyche has been trained to do so. Please...

I've recently seen a number of pieces at the online sites I visit along these lines: "What are we doing to our children forcing them to be vaxxed when it is so dangerous?!" There were two just yesterday at one I like, Off-Guardian .  While I agree with the concern as well as all those related to the continued insanity of overbearing lockdown protocols weighing on us all the time, I really don't think people are truly grasping what is happening when that critical mass of Generation Xers pretty-much dominate the public sphere with all of this. We saw a perfectly wretched motion picture last night, Everything Everywhere All at Once . It was about a woman bouncing through the multiverse being tossed from universe to universe, and while I believe it was trying to make a statement about how nice and non-dysfunctional a family could be, it was actually just a brainlessly meandering, sickeningly creepy, and painfully disturbing hot-mess. After I'd endured the 57th incident of pointless, tedious, and grotesquely bloody martial arts goofiness at just under an hour-&-a-half in, I was done. Turn this idiocy off. All of that wasn't even the most disturbing part. The most disturbing part was that there were so many who liked it, both reviewers and audience members. At Rotten Tomatoes alone: among over 300 reviewers it got a 95%, which seems pretty good (I know very little about the site). From the 2,500+ "verified ratings" among those posting with the popcorn icon it got an 89%. I could get deep into the film and ...
