Wonderful Matters

I am fascinated by what Jesus told His disciples in the tenth chapter of Matthew. He sent them out to share Him with others, and the thing that strikes my soul right now is where He told them to stay. He told them to find those who knew Him -- those weren't His exact words, but Jesus knew there were those who lived the Kingdom and would be the most hospitable to them -- so much so that He insisted for the entire time they ministered in that town they stay only with that one home He knew was the most Kingdom.  He even said if there was no one in the town who was Kingdom, then leave and shake the dust off your sandals as a sign against that town. Ouch. Thing is, there are those who Love Thy Neighbor with His love, and it is very good to let them do that very thing. That's the essence of sowing the Kingdom in Christ's name, love, and power. While I was channel surfing I came across a movie, I believe it was called Greenland , about a family's attempts to escape an extraterrestrial disaster of some kind, you know, meteors or asteroids hitting the earth and all. I don't know, I didn't hang around to see much of it. But one scene featured people watching events unfold on the television in a bar or restaurant. I happened to come across an episode of M*A*S*H on the classic television show channel, and there was the typical scene with Corporal Klinger valiantly striving to get the army to consider him insane so he may be discharged. He does this by wearing women's clothes, but the gag is that we all know that he is not trans at all -- in one episode he confesses "It's a dodge, I'm all man!" I thought about this in light of today's world -- as well as even back in the 70s M*A*S*H was a show that regularly indoctrinated its audience with leftist ideas regarding just about everything. For entertainment it was both delightful and sobering, that dynamic made for much of its appeal. I think there should be a law against paparazzi. It doesn't matter that too many celebrities are boorish ding-dongs,  no one  should ever have to endure a TMZ exposition, or really inquisition. It is inhumane, immoral, and just flat-out evil. Thing is it is very hard to have a law against someone taking a photograph of someone else. What a weekend for the System's provocations. One of the most important functions of Cain's legacy is to stir rebellion in its nation's inhabitants. And this weekend may likely be the most pronounced celebration of that significant activity. Today you have a commemoration of the final announcement of emancipation made after the Civil War ended in April 1865. One of the most devastating effects of the socialism marauding through our nation now is the proliferation of young people being put in positions of power -- across the board, in every decision-making capacity. In a post a little while back I made a remark about praying for my enemies, and also praying for the mitigation of the effects of what legitimately powerful potentates do. I've thought a bit about that statement, the one about praying that people wouldn't suffer so much for the things they ask their lords to do. In the twentieth chapter of the book of Luke, the powerful political authorities ask Jesus a very important question. These authorities were the hifalutin religious elders, priests, teachers, but they were political, just like they are today . If you don't know that, you aren't paying attention. I read recently that John Schnatter has been summarily kicked out of Papa John's Pizza, the company he started. The reason: at a company conference call he uttered the n-word in reference to how, many years ago, Colonel Sanders used the n-word with impunity, after which he spoke a bit about racism and society and that racism is a bad thing in society.
