I've found I generally don't blog a whole lot in May. One, I've just got so much to do as a teacher as a school year comes to a close. Two, there is so much about which to post that I can't even start. Three, I am planning to put together something of a home page piece for the summer, some of which will cover just a bit of the insanity swarming about. But I thought I'd just share a contrast related to the overwhelming nature of Data Center construction everywhere and the "AI" God it serves. I feel like putting it all in caps because in some measure those things are now proper nouns. You must remember that the whole idea of "social justice" was invented by the Jesuits so academicians and bright smiley media personalities may virtue-signal about how much they are for government forcing people to hock it up for the little guy. It is funny, a social media thread that got quite a bit of traction recently related to the question, "How often do men think about the Roman Empire?' All kinds of responses went into the interactive cybersphere, most of them whimsical, you know, "No wonder my husband doesn't think about bringing me flowers any more," you know, those kinds of things. Well, in actual reality where our own personal identities and professional purposes and eternal destinies are quite relevant to every element of our thinking, the Roman Empire should  be something every one of us should be seriously contemplating at least a little bit. It is simple. The Roman Empire exists today quite prominently . Using "The Shining" is not hard, really, when simply identifying stupid people. The trick is you've got to ask The Deliverer to deliver you from your own propensity to be stupid. That  can be hard. I mention The Shining  because while I don't think it is the greatest horror movie ever, I do appreciate it. I wrote a bit about it in a blog a while back. There is a sequel too, Doctor Sleep , which is pretty good but too overbearing and self-aware, I think. It is weird, Stanley Kubrick can get away with those long drawn-out scenes full of meaning and intensity, just by the way he handles them. Other directors simply can't, which is why Doctor Sleep has great potential but just isn't even close in quality. Anyway, what makes both films compelling is they do make palpably real the malevolence that exists in the supernatural world. I was listening to a recent podcast by Greg Koukl of Stand to Reason  while doing some yard work today and he generally does a fine job of elucidating biblical principles and logical truths. In this one he addressed concerns about someone who made the following statement, I assume it was in a tweet: "It is an act of love to abort a brown child rather than give it to white evangelical parents." Greg was aghast and did the standard apologetic about abortion and so forth... but then he could still only conclude with simple dismay and resignation about the woeful terribleness of this idea. One of the most devastating effects of the socialism marauding through our nation now is the proliferation of young people being put in positions of power -- across the board, in every decision-making capacity. Please know that young people in and of themselves are not up for grabs, I'm definitely not doing what the Black Lives Matter crowd is doing and saying " X group [in their case all white people] is guilty of a crime [racism] and must be punished." I am  saying that socialism destroys wealth on a macro level and paying young people to do jobs older more experienced people must do is far cheaper. The only thing is, just that: young people simply do not have the required life experience and rigorous education to be handling the power we have given them . A dead (if you will) giveaway as to the verity of the contrast between the World System managed by The New York Times on behalf of its much-better-known superior than they think, and the Kingdom where The Savior reigns among those whose silence is deafening at times, came up in an MSNBC interview with System-beloved religious expert Resa Aslan, best known for writing a splendid book about one of the finest fictional Jesuses one could worship. Aslan and the interviewer were going off yet again about those dastardly evangelical Trump supporters, exhibiting great dismay at their folly for voting for such a lout, and Aslan started getting into the typical racialist thread by claiming that white evangelicals comprise a doomsday cult. A couple months ago I blogged on the appearance of John Lennox before a packed hall at one of the Claremont colleges. In my own recent apologetics reading -- this one from Nancy Pearcey's Saving Leonardo  -- I'd come across a point made by a follower of Christ about seasoned apologists appearing to speak at colleges... They almost always pack the house. People do want to know the truth. People are seekers of truth. But the truth to them is based on all the shit poured into their souls by brilliant Roman agents working through the universities, sworn and powerful humanism-smothered operatives who have no idea who God is. Thursday night I went over to Harvey Mudd College, one of the top science schools in the nation, to see something I thought was quite extraordinary. John Lennox, one of the preeminent Christian apologists ever, was appearing for a talk I think I saw titled, "Cosmic Chemistry." Hmm, was this a nifty challenge to the materialist worldview? I arrived and managed to get a seat right in the middle of a lecture hall that sat about 300. By the time Lennox started the place was packed. Hmm. What's with that? Who were these people? "Apart from Me you can do nothing." These words are there quite prominently in the 15th chapter of John's gospel. Around them is an entire treatise about how much Jesus is it. He's the One. Nothing else matters. Have Him and you have everything and can do anything. Don't have Him and you're squat. No matter how much you're into anything  else, it is utterly, contemptibly worthless. I just uploaded my latest home page piece about how much we are fooled into believing what the World System Operatives tell us about how we should look at things. After putting it up at my webzine I've actually thought, hmm, am I saying anything new? Am I really adding anything to the conversation? Is anything I'm saying anything different from the general way everyone pretty much understands the gospel message? Then I looked around again at the news. And yep, it's true.
