Know what the most valuable thing in the world is right now? Well, it has in some sense been the most valuable thing ever, but things are happening now that amplify this truth. Gold? Nah, just shiny yellow rocks, and the gold hawkers are starting to be a little more exposed for ripping off their customers. Cash? Green pieces of paper rapidly being replaced by the inflation and the digital. Stocks, bonds, funds, commodities, property, your very own house --  something  asset-oriented? Who knows what anything is valued there, really, except what the Institutions say they are. Ahh, crypto! Eh, just computer numbers the value of which are so volatile they are effectively worthless. Next year on July 4 the Great Americanist Populace will celebrate the country's semiquincentennial  (I'll bet you'll become acquainted with that term over the next few months), or its 250th birthday. There will be the grandest display of Americanist revelry -- the shows the parades the fireworks the colors the exhibitions the bunting the concerts the flag-waving the processions the feasting the speeches the massively inspirational pageantry all around. There will also likely be some hifalutin pontificating about the real  founding of the United States the-greatest-freest-bestest-country-on-the-planet, you know, lots about the American Revolution and George Washington and these freedom-starting things and those liberty-championing things and the delightfully powerful Americanist mythologies that give us warm patriotic fuzzies and some other heretofore bit more obscure element of the nation's founding that is no less exhilarating to reflect upon as all the others because ...

In the twentieth chapter of the book of Luke, the powerful political authorities ask Jesus a very important question. These authorities were the hifalutin religious elders, priests, teachers, but they were political, just like they are today . If you don't know that, you aren't paying attention. Well, sadly it is likely the same scant attention most people pay to this passage. Jesus is asked, "By whose authority are you doing all of this Kingdom stuff?" [His powerful words, His miraculous deeds, you know...] Jesus then asks them, "What do you think, John's baptism, was it from heaven or from some human origin?" These dudes knew what Jesus was doing: exposing their sanctimonious hypocrisy . They knew that if they answered from heaven Jesus would ask them why they don't give up their institutionalized pretense and follow Him. Found this brief review by Paul Craig Roberts of a book that pulls no punches in speaking of Cain's Administrative Authority as all about human sacrifice, here referred to as something I've often called it: value extraction . Nothing much to say about it, except to draw attention to a work that merely elucidates the reality of World System activity. I should add, however, the disclaimer that I don't in any way censure what the World System does, as so many do including Mr. Roberts (from the smattering of what I've read of his). I only point out for purposes of understanding. Radical Selfists rant and rail against it as if they can change it, Devout Romanists defend with all sorts of casuistry, often the two intertwine to cause great confusion only to give richer voice to those who pull them further under their thumbs.
