Wonderful Matters

I recently found this profound comic panel meme, and it just says volumes about how I feel in the depths of my soul. I do take some time examining the World System and its machinations, because in some ways it does make my dwelling in The Kingdom that much more meaningful. I do sometimes think about how difficult it is to observe what is truly going on with that sorrowful destruction, and to behold so many so foolishly oblivious to it. But then again, that's a lot of it. I know why. Even sadder is that so many out there think they've got it, think they do know about the World and what it does. Nah. They're just like that beloved Catholicist influencer Augustine... I just want to be doing good and wholesome things in the City of God ... Except that the "City of God" is just the good and wholesome Roman Catholic simulacra that is really about head-cracking evildoers, and every single one of us is an evildoer .  Ahh thank goodness there is the City of God law enforce...

I can't help but begin this follow-up post to the latest in my "We're all just trollees" thread with this screenshot of a video showing a toddler being fitted with glasses so he could see, for what is effectively the first time ever. It is just heart-rendering to watch, and see the smile on his face when he can see, especially since his first clear sight is that of his beaming parents. The reason I'm leading with this simply amazing photograph is I definitely see this as a tremendously profound metaphor for what happens when Christ gives sight to not only the blind, but to the wicked, the foolish, the devious, and the stupid. There's a show on the NBC network called American Greed . Every episode showcases some crook who'd spent years hoodwinking a whole bunch of people, separating them from gobs of their money in sometimes very insidiously imaginative ways. The show's appeal also comes with the inevitable instances when they do something tremendously stupid leading to their prosecution in some form or another. It is certainly greed that is involved, but a far worse crime is the deeper motivating force: pride. This is the idea that virtue-signaling out of one's rear end is too intoxicating never mind what kinds of immoralities must be in the mix to do that. Recently the head of a crypto exchange was exposed as his multi-billion dollar money laundering operation went belly-up. All kinds of 9/11 remembrances are being pronounced everywhere today, as they always are on September 11ths. Today it seems I'm seeing quite a few more "Never Forget"s everywhere, might be just because I'm noticing them more. And they are everywhere , on just about every web page, on my Twitter feed everyone is posting pics of the twin towers with those words -- I'm even seeing them outside of churches, and they're likely inside when they mention it in their services. I think about that. "Never Forget." Why? I mean, thinking about what happened and praying for the families and working hard for very good things for everyone all around is a very good thing, but I wonder. A few blog posts ago I admitted that a lot of what I do is splash a bunch of words on the computer screen so I know what I want to say. I wondered about admitting that because it may make it seem I don't know what's in my heart. Yeah, sometimes I don't, but sometimes I really do and the words just come out the way they do which may not be exactly the way I want to them to. Umm. Thing is everyone does this. No big deal. Sometimes we write pretty well, other times it is a bit meandering. We do our best. It also doesn't mean a particular Truth Rule isn't absolutely veritable. There are two motion pictures that have half-hour long conclusions that I have seen dozens of times. I don't watch or even remember much of the regular bulk of those films because they are far too crushingly depressing, but that is some of why those particular segments are so transcendently transformative. The films are The Shawshank Redemption  and The Book of Eli . Not going to get into Shawshank  right now, and if you know the film and know the substance of that last half-hour or so, you know. One of the most devastating effects of the socialism marauding through our nation now is the proliferation of young people being put in positions of power -- across the board, in every decision-making capacity. Please know that young people in and of themselves are not up for grabs, I'm definitely not doing what the Black Lives Matter crowd is doing and saying " X group [in their case all white people] is guilty of a crime [racism] and must be punished." I am  saying that socialism destroys wealth on a macro level and paying young people to do jobs older more experienced people must do is far cheaper. The only thing is, just that: young people simply do not have the required life experience and rigorous education to be handling the power we have given them . Among all the present nightmares fomented by the Frankfurt School founders -- and those guys are much farther back and deeper in than Heidegger, Adorno, Marcuse -- one that caught my attention may not be the most serious but it is one of the most telling. The guy who has announced Sacramento Kings basketball games for years was fired because he put in a polite, harmless tweet the words, "All lives matter." Oh my . It is still stunning that sharing the words All lives matter  is considered by the newly dominant racialist hegemony as meaning "I'm the worst racist on the planet and so justifiably deserve the most expansive amounts of the most vicious opprobrium all those who are smart and righteous and woke can heap upon me." I'd read a devotional the other day that was pretty basic, but sobering. It made the point that the only sure thing in life is judgment and Hell. Once we accept that fact, then life becomes tolerable in that God by His grace and lovingkindness extend to us deliverance from that harrowing destiny. But what about those who don't care about that God business? What about those who simply have different beliefs than you do? Are you being mean and telling them they're going to Hell -- how mean! Well, ahem. The truth does hurt sometimes. I happened to catch the terrific 1972 film Deliverance  on the classic movie channel the other day. The last time I watched it was probably some 30 or 40 years ago. I'd remembered most of the substance plot and character-wise, but wow. What an eye-opener as to the magnitude of its meaning. I can't deny that I absolutely love The Babylon Bee . It is The Onion  only way better. It so often cuts to the heart of what's really going on, and it makes me laugh. I so need that because my heart is so often shredded by the insanely dangerous stupidity that is smothering us all right now. Here's a taste related to that very thing. The silence continues to be deafening, the volume quite intense. It'd be nice to have Jesus and His wisdom being widely broadcast, but those who say they're His seem to tarry. I do see some out there boldly sharing solidly truthful things, even at some cost to their reputation, their livelihoods... that's good -- it's what Jesus' call to agape  sacrifice was all about. But when watching the World System have its way with so many of its devotees, as it is with this coronavirus hysteria, wow, it is extraordinarily sad. They're  exceedingly vocal. I happened to see even Dr. Phil, a rousing product of the World himself, was eviscerated by The New York Times network of social media cronies when he actually shared some of those very uncomfortable truths about the reality of the coronavirus situation.
