The Cold Civil War Rages On - More Guns Pointed at More Heads
Recently a major professional sports player said some things that offended the woke hegemonic voices and forced their hand to proceed with the requisite cancellation. The team was holding one of its sadly now-quite-typical "Pride" celebrations, and he objected saying it was unrighteous. He did add that as a follower of Christ he could not in good conscience participate in such an event. Often players are expected to have rainbow-ish items added to their uniforms, and perhaps even spit up a good word about how much they respect the courage and experience of anyone embracing LGBTQ anything.
Because the player said what he said, he was released from the team, and the team expressly and very publicly cited his remarks as the reason why. This has gotten some airplay in social media and through the sports commentariat. It hasn't been addressed so much in the mainstream legacy media, and I do believe that is because if they rode that horse too boldly the truth about the raging sodomist crusade would start to seep out.
I addressed the reality of all this in a post I made two years ago at about this exact time, in April. I shared the truth about it all that is rarely ever shared, anywhere, not even from the pulpit, and I believe the reason for this is too many supposedly Christian churches are simply too beholden to the World System and its Romanist dominated agenda that it is effectively mute. If any given worship community were a full-on ungrafted organization filled with people bold enough to share Kingdom things with both Truth and Grace, in the power of Christ and His Word, there'd be apocalyptic revival.
People being radically healed, delivered, and gaining the most insightful understanding of all things including the wonderful salvation they have in Christ.
Instead everyone just slogs along like the Roman Catholic Church and its militant administrators want them to think and behave.
I'd like to share some of this condition with you, and change things up as it applies to this professional basketball player and the World around him. The pretext of my previous post related to a press conference with the head coach of the University of South Carolina women's basketball team head coach being asked whether or not she favors men playing in women's sports. I noted all the possible ways she could answer, with the ones that are employed the most in these instances the ones the System has taught them to bleat -- they know if they don't answer those ways they will get the business end of the metaphorical gun pointed right at their head.
So, let's get to it. In the case of this player, he is indeed being told by the team's top leadership, "We're going to have this delightful celebration night throughout the game, as well as before and after, to honor the whole LGBTQ realm. All you players are expected to enthusiastically embrace all of this. After all we do want to all be unified in our support of diversity and inclusion and equity and all the rest of it. Okay?"
Now to the adjusted part of my previous blog post, but relevant for this instance:
___
So, how does the player respond? There are four basic ways anyone could address this situation and we could touch a bit on the real meaning of each one. This is assuming that one think about trying to present oneself as one who doesn't hear well, because everyone does know what is being said, and everyone knows that everyone else knows that you are implicitly expected to understand. After all if you genuinely don't know about any of this, especially with your particular elevated stature, you'll just be tarred as an ignorant bigoted Neanderthal in need of some "re-education."
No. 1: "Yes, that sounds great, I'm great with showing that I'm I kind caring tolerant person." This is again what many high-profile well-paid sports celebrities say, giving in: "Pride" nights should be openly held on a regular basis. This is, of course, what the rabidly DEI-minded people want him to say, and significantly these players know that. He knows if he answers any other way, the sycophantic media are going to roast him, so at this point he just goes along to get along.
No. 2: "No, I respectfully object to this kind of thing." If he said this he'd likely add the following to soften the blows from the leftist screechers, only because this is almost always what you hear from prominent people who don't like the LGBTQ stuff but easily see the guns pointed at them: "But this is just my own religious belief so I'm free to have those religious beliefs and my religion tells me it isn't such a good thing to mix up genders and it's just my beliefs and my religion and my freedom, thank you." This enables the media to paint him as some conservative extremist and, well, those kinds of people are just that way.
No. 3: "I don't know." The player could just let it go with the intent that he's just a humble basketball player. This may be a fine work-around but it'd be likely he'd add, again in the name of trying to get everyone to look at him in a favorable light, "But look, I'm tolerant and caring and I like diversity and inclusion just as much as anyone else, thuh end."
No. 4: "I don't care." This is a sort-of "Leave me alone" response, which would have been perfectly justified because the question itself was a fully loaded gun pointed at his head. The problem here is he would appear to be mean and thoughtless about people who are in pain enduring gender dysphoria and societal rejection and all that stuff.
Again, expecting players to provide something of an endorsement of the event in that setting is really just a set-up. It is a point-blank shot on the trolling field at someone who shouldn't have to be put through that. Here's the thing.
What if the player who objects on righteousness grounds answered the question with the most truthful response?
What if after saying, "No," instead of all that freedom of religion blather setting himself up to look like some weird voodoo-practicing religious nut, he said this:
"LGBTQ anything is an affront to God, to nature, and to reality. Males are males and females are females, and to expect patent lies about those differences to be openly embraced is the worst kind of evil. What is more harrowing is the whole thing is about people being forced to acknowledge, promote, or even celebrate a wicked deceit, one that actually destroys healthy relationships, families, and communities. This isn't just my opinion, it is objective transcendent truth, and the people who try to push the lie are committing a grievous crime. That you even asked us to be a part of this and put us in this difficult position is part of that evil. I'm just thrilled to play the game with the very best of my God-given ability, and if asked I'd very much like to talk about The One Deliverance from all the "Pride" ugliness and that is Jesus Christ and a deep abiding faith in Him."
How intolerant! How divisive! How mean and rude and downright nasty!
Of course, this basketball player said something along those lines, and indeed did lose his job.
I know what that is like. I know. I lost my teaching job when I told my high school seniors in the classroom that marriage was only that between a man and a woman. And remember, I was teaching Civics so such a topic is allowed in a class like that -- and I did so respectfully and graciously, calling no one out, and letting students debate me on it and even have the last word. And most students concurred with my position, enthusiastically, and some told me so.
It was those very few who were "triggered," complained, and ::BOOM::

That is the end of the modified excerpt. You can easily see the reality of the two distinct approaches to all of this.
One is the World System's, full of the most sophisticated deception to keep people either Radical Selfists (believing they can do anything they want even if wickedly destructive) or Devout Romanists (thrilled to keep the Culture War enflamed yet having no real power to do anything because they don't want to be seen as objecting to how much they are helping the poor and downtrodden many of whom they are told are LGBTQ-minded individuals).
The other approach is the Kingdom's, from that place this basketball player has something of a desire to dwell within.
It is disconcerting that many of the System stooges in whatever media channels there are labor feverishly to paint this player as certifiably insane, aware of some extent of psychological issues he has wrestled with in his past -- I mean, how low can you get.
I think one of the main reasons there is so much animosity towards him is that it was revealed that besides his "Pride" event objections he had made other remarks critical of the Roman Catholic Church.
Ahh. I see. It is bad enough to be "anti-gay" or "homophobic," it is just as bad to be "anti-Catholic" or even just plain "anti-religious" as one relatively conservative widely published periodical called him. How successful the System's plap has been so rancidly bilged everywhere -- point out the sacred-cow idols of the Society? You are really not-well. You are a danger to everyone. You really should be put away.
We are indeed in a civil war. I saw one commentator call it the "Cold Civil War." I can't see it getting any better. There are just too many people out there who know this isn't about "freedom of religion" or "freedom of speech," even though many System sympathizers will try to paint it as such in order to ameliorate the ravages of this war.
No, it is about people actually wanting to abide by truthful things. There are a few of those people out there. They do know sodomist-minded people are trying to play them. They do know the System and all its propagandist voices are trying to snow them. They do know they are up against it if they say a single thing that goes against the domineering narrative. And yes, some insightful followers of Christ grasp so well that much of this environment is just about the System manipulatively expanding its own dominance either through fomenting the furious rebellion that Critical Theory dogma engenders or pounding out the Machiavellian hegemony response to it that can be so mesmerizing.
It sure doesn't seem like there are many of those people, however, in such a Catholicized Nation run through by the ruses of operatives who are convincing so, so many that black is white and white is black. This is not hard to do to people who are just not well-versed in God's Word, indeed in understanding His Truth.
Or really, just plain Him. Jesus Christ, Truth, Grace, The Way, The Truth...
The Life.
It is something of an encouragement to see one of these relatively high-profile sports people stand on The Rock and express a bold confidence in their Savior. Maybe others will see Christ proclaimed and go be Kingdom dwellers too.

The first image is clipped from a Todd Hayen piece over at Off-Guardian from July 2024. Thank you. The second is that classic Harold Lloyd image that is everywhere, indeed one of the very best depicting the lives of those who bravely share Christ in the face of these kinds of wretched persecutions. It was the lead image for that blog post from April of 2024. My webzine has a bit more about this richly Catholicized World - my only hope is you find The Kingdom out of that.
By the way, just for future reference should someone come across this blog post, the basketball player mentioned in this piece was Jaden Ivey once of the Chicago Bulls. I didn't want to make this post prominently about him for I hope obvious reasons, one of which is that he is not the only one who is boldly standing for truth and righteousness in these ways. It might actually be kind of interesting to see players actually support someone like him with not just supportive remarks in social media but actually joining together to refuse to play in any games in which sexually immoral activity is showcased by the organization in some favorable way.
