The Now Permanently Clouded Reality

Yesterday Google's Veo 3 was introduced, and it must be cited as a red-letter day.

Now everyone will be doing what Tim Challies wrote about on the very same day. There it is in a screenshot of his blog's home page. It is truly harrowing, really.

"AI makes me doubt everything."

He will not be the only one.

We all will, all the time.

Veo 3 has now, really, reached that final holy grail of AI-generated CGI video-audio-communication technology. You know what it is. Too few have been fearing it for many years now, but many of them have been sounding the alarm. I wrote a bit about it in my own webzine's home page piece back in 2008, how a fully entrenched and mainstreamed materialist mentality would lead us to this kind of world.

The lies simply don't matter anymore because it will be impossible to discern them.

Well, with one very simple, very profound exception.

But for now, that holy grail:

To make "AI-generated" content that is indistinguishable from actual human reality.

The latest from Veo 3 is about as good as you can get. The previous renditions still had some substantive uncanny valley elements to them, but the Veo 3 stuff?

Damn.

I just saw a post from a guy who said he made a living making $500k marketing videos. He posted one he made for $500 and it was amazing.

Watch the floodgates now open wide.

It will be in everything. It will be everywhere. You will see so much of it that you absolutely will not be able to make important, serious, life-impacting, life-saving decisions because you simply cannot be sure what you are seeing or hearing can be trusted, from whatever source you are getting the information. We're not just talking about spiffy super-sophisticated AI CGI Hollywood productions, it involves anything you see or hear in any kind of communication platform, even the simplest phone call you get from someone close that isn't that person because someone made an exact "AI" copy of your voice for the purpose of telling you... of telling you what exactly?

Remember back in 1993, November to be exact, when Time magazine posted on its cover an image of a woman who did not exist. It sure looked real. It was only a composite photo of a number of faces. 30 years later?

That woman can now star in an entire major motion picture and do it exactly like Jennifer Lawrence. Or Marilyn Monroe. Or Queen Anne or Lizzie Bordon or the latest personal amorata of your own choosing for your own particular sensual pleasure in whatever ecstatic way your Epicurean heart desires.

But - it - will - not - be - real.

And the lie becomes the truth, in a way I don't even think Baudrillard could have envisioned.

This is the nightmare world we are now entering. Certainly there are many gruesomely seasoned Catholicists so captivated by the performance art anyway and so distant from Truth that it won't matter. They live by the death and the challenges to death and those are the only things that numb the existential despair in which they swim.  

AI can now lie to me harder and if I die, so what.

Again, as Ben Franklin so profoundly stated centuries ago, "Nine men in ten is a suicide."

But there is that one single way to know the truth, or very much so -- with the cap:

Truth.

And that is to do what the prophet Jeremiah told us is the very best thing we could do, even boast about. You can read about it at the end of the ninth chapter of the book by his name.

God said, "That you understand and know Me."

There it is.

That's it.

That's the only thing that will get you to see what is real and what isn't, especially after what was unleashed yesterday.

It can't be emphasized enough. I have a few readers here and I always pray they would share these vibrant Scriptural truths with others, and that they will share with others, and all of them would be the very best Kingdom bringers for the benefit of even more others. But that emphasis:

Read His word. Always, every day. 

Do it with other followers of Christ. Prayerfully, in bold beautiful worship of Him. 

Get out of the World System that will destroy you with the more and more insidious AI. As such get ungrafted, and if you can't, meet up with people who understand and all of you talk about it and pray about it with every fiber of your being -- and then be His mercy and joy and Kingdom to those who are being clobbered and will soon be eviscerated by the devastating social and economic hurricane that is coming with this "AI" thing.

I've written a lot about it, but I admit I can't even fathom the yet-imagined crap that is on the way. I invite you to peruse my webzine and peek at a few of my writings, look at some past blog posts like this recent one, but I don't presume to be the prophet of it all. 

But I do know that there really isn't anything that is "AI," only wicked people at all levels of wickedness who will murderously exploit the better-&-better super-duper fast IT machinery like madmen. Since nothing is reality except what the most powerful mandarins make reality because the reality is now embedded in the "AI," they can also make the morality.

Really, it will be a bloodbath.

So ultimately all I can do is, in the most emphatic way I can with whatever it is I can share here -- so very ironically in the web platform that makes the Veo 3, huh, how about that... I guess this very blog post itself could be the latest greatest chatbot concoction. Wow.

Well, ahem, anyway, no matter what I can just share with people Christ, that's all. Because again, it is very clear...

He is the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.

Go to Him right now. Tell Him.

Because. I mean.
