What Happens on the World Theater Stage is Not What It Is

Image
Today fine conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was shot dead at one of his very popular "Change My Mind" type college campus events. It was absolutely shocking news to most everyone -- so accomplished at such a young age, he got deep into the most visible platforms of the culture war discourse yet did so with graciousness and respect no matter who he spoke with or about. He did want to tell the truth about things, and yes, it may have pushed the boundaries of the Overton Window. Everyone will say something about why it happened, much of which is meaningless, really. It is just part of the theater created to keep imaginations catastrophized. Ironically tomorrow is the anniversary of one of the most major of these events, 9/11. Sadly it appeared Kirk had his carotid artery shattered by the bullet, exactly the kind of wound suffered by Martin Luther King Jr. at the hand of a sniper. Thing is, as most good World System factualists (sometimes unfairly tarred as conspiracy theoris...

The Shining Factor, Part III

Image
Did you know there was another The Shining  motion picture in the works, abandoned after  Doctor Sleep just didn't cut it at the box office? It was a prequel of sorts about Dick Hallorann, the Overlook Hotel's chef and quasi-caretaker who, of course, has "the shining." This again is the ability to sense the supernatural, particularly the evil that can be out and about working to snatch our souls. I'd previously remarked that anyone can have this ability, in the Christian sense it is discernment , simply identifying what is righteous out there as opposed to, yes, I am not ashamed to say it, as opposed to the stupid.  As I wrote in my home page piece this season , I wrestle with calling anyone a fool because in the fifth chapter of Matthew Jesus warns against it. I do believe, however, that he was distinctly warning against calling someone a fool when you yourself are just as much of a fool, and often by doing so you are simply stirring dissension and not working t...

Another Sobering Truth Rule Most Gladly Dismiss

Image
Abigail Shrier has sort-of established herself as the go-to voice of reason in the discourse on whether or not in the name of courage and freedom and individuality and just plain wretched foolishness someone should mutilate their body and become some other type of biological being. The most typical one is a man or woman "transitioning" into a person of the opposite sex. From what I have seen and read of hers, I think her take is a bit limited -- it seems she's only interested in making the case against  children  doing it -- you know, adults are autonomous beings and never mind that there are all kinds of nefarious things adults can do too that are regularly and robustly censured by everyone all around. I do believe, however, Shrier is firmly against adult "transitioning" also, so I won't criticize her for something of which I am not certain. She may just want to be focusing on making sure our children are not criminally violated in these ways, so she's ...

The New Normal is the Same as the Old Normal

Image
This morning on the talk radio show I heard that 52% of the population are in favor of dissolving, dismissing, eliminating, forgiving all college student debt. 52%. More than half of the people in this country. Wow, how much people are absolutely clueless about the breadth of institutionalized theft they enthusiastically endorse. Indeed the usurious practices to begin with are just as exploitive, but not surprised so few really get it since so much of the populace is profoundly Catholicist -- that means they are given over to essential Roman Catholic doctrine no matter how unwittingly. Some of the most rabid atheists and rigid Protestants will scream bloody murder against such a thought, but, well... Just look. I just wanted to post here to introduce you to the latest Walter Veith presentation . Take a little while just to plug it into your ear pods, you don't even really have to watch it unless you want to read the material Veith presents that comes straight from the horse's m...

Another Critical Facet of an Extraordinarily Important Truth Rule

Image
In my last blog post I shared a bit about a critically important Truth Rule that is under serious attack by a critical mass of severely misguided and stunningly powerful individuals and interest groups, the very simple one that you simply cannot choose your sexual identity . It is an impossibility, just as it is an impossibility to fly without some kind of lifting apparatus should you leap from a tall building. Just as you would plop when landing hard on the concrete below, believing you can be some kind of "gender" of your choosing slams you very hard on all sorts of agonizing emotional, psychological, spiritual, and of course physical consequences. I have been thinking about blogging a bit more on these Truth Rules, thinking of some important ones, doing it because in some ways it merely helps me process the attacks against them by those foolish detracting voices out there. The biological sex one? Wow, is that loud. Ouch, my ears hurt. Those Truth Rules remarks may be on th...

Juneteenth, the Latest Opportunity for All White Racists to Finally Come Clean

Image
Juneteenth is upon us, tomorrow, June 19th, the trendy new holiday for gently but firmly reminding us all just how racist white people are. After all, blaring in our ears how slavery officially ended with the last official emancipation declaration in Texas on this date in 1865 is bound to get us to be finally convinced that we finally  ought to stop enslaving blacks with our still festering racist discrimination since it was all supposed to be taken care of way back then. After reading a bit more of the account of the New York Times  newsroom kerfuffle related to a white US Senator's op-ed about use of the military to protect person and property from violent rioters, I saw something I hadn't seen before, and it made me think. One of the things these endemically racialist-minded young staffers at the Times  did was share their fears that publishing the piece would threaten their fellow black colleagues. My mind had thoughts of white staffers telling the black ones,...

The Silence of the Lambs, Covid-19 Version, Part 2

Came across something Cicero said in ancient Rome a gazillion years ago that is relevant for today, which means people were thinking and doing the same stupid things a gazillion years ago as we are today. Wow. A gazillion years and we still don't get it. ::Sigh:: He said Salus populi suprema lex esto, "The health of the people shall be the highest law." Right now with the coronavirus hysteria swirling about so many look at that and go, "You go Caesar, you go with your lockdown procedures. I'm all in. Curses to all those who won't wear a mask or brush within six feet of someone else!" So many. So, so many. So many very smart people but very dangerous people because they simply won't take a minute to think that health  means so much more than ensuring a certain ruling class' political status is exceptionally healthy right now. Something that is just never shared in polite company these days (if there is any company) is that so many of the peo...

Hate Speech is Indeed a Crime, Part IV

Image
A few years ago I wondered why a video game company didn't invent a gaming experience in which the player can shoot at his enemy of choice -- zombie, monster, Nazi, whatever -- and do so in and about his regular environs.  That is, he dons a set of glasses, goggles, or other such somewhat non-obstructive reasonably fashionable VR device, and the images of his targets appear from behind the tree across the street, from around the corner of the building in front of him, from behind the couch in his living room. Blam blam blam  -- using your fake pistol aimed at fake threats in a real setting, there you go, you just saved your family from some evil being right there about to invade your home. Or at least you could feel  like you did. Well, now there is something that is coming close to that, Pokemon Go, and it is the biggest video game craze since Pong. Apparently you can hop out and find Pokemon out and about in your regular environs , sort of a combination of video Pok...

Hate Speech is Indeed a Crime, Part II

After posting my latest home page piece , I realized I should probably blog a bit about all the stuff included in the idea of speech . Yes, I'll never blog enough to cover all the things I wanted to write, all the things I'm still thinking about it all. This is why a critical component is that we're talking about it with others, indefinitely, just talking . That's a very good thing. It is also why I should mention one of the top philosophers regarding this "freedom of speech" thing, and that is John Stuart Mill. I wanted to plug him into the home page piece, but I just couldn't find a place for him without messing with an already delicate cohesion. But he deserves a mention. He argued that we should live in an environment where all our differences may be respected and there is opportunity for all views to be shared. If a particular view is considered irrational or unrighteous in some way, well then, we can all employ our level-headedness and s...

So Few Young People Get It, at Their Future's Peril

Image
I came across this from a mainstream news site, the conclusion to a brief response about the Brexit vote that the news site said was going viral on Twitter. It is the third point, but if you're wondering about the first two, don't worry, they're just as stupid as this one. I only share it to include some remarks, mostly because this kind of stuff is said to be so popular among young people today. Here it is. I'd like to address this to the author, "Nicholas," but I'd like to share this with any young person out there. Not all young people are like this, but sadly most are among today's GenXers fully captivated by the most insidious humanist dogma. The Jesuits are doing their job, most proficiently, and these saps don't even know it. They are your own young adult sons and daughters, but hey, if this applies to older adults who're simply on the same hallucinogens, then that's cool too. So, yeah, for "Nicholas" and all others...
