The Baroque Enlightened War in All Its Glory

Image
Because of the all the rage now about the presently elevated belligerence in the Middle East, the Pope recently said some things about war being very very bad. Taken as somewhat controversial, his good dutiful Catholicists then started trollee'ing like crazy, responding that sometimes we must fight and the Bible says people fought when needed and when there is evil we must fight it and this reason to fight and that reason to fight and so on. Trollees. Precisely what delights Rome to no end. It is indeed extraordinarily sorrowful that so, so many are just raging Catholicists either embracing that Body of Death like crazy or squealing loudly against it in some way or another. If they actually read God's Word with a deep abiding faith in Christ and as such listened to the counsel of the Holy Spirit which would be dwelling in their hearts, they'd get it. They'd get Kingdom things. The Roman Catholic-dominated World System zealots from the poorest to the richest simply don...

The Most Valuable Thing in a Baroque Dominated World

Image
Know what the most valuable thing in the world is right now? Well, it has in some sense been the most valuable thing ever, but things are happening now that amplify this truth. Gold? Nah, just shiny yellow rocks, and the gold hawkers are starting to be a little more exposed for ripping off their customers. Cash? Green pieces of paper rapidly being replaced by the inflation and the digital. Stocks, bonds, funds, commodities, property, your very own house --  something  asset-oriented? Who knows what anything is valued there, really, except what the Institutions say they are. Ahh, crypto! Eh, just computer numbers the value of which are so volatile they are effectively worthless. Oh, yeah: your own education, knowledge, and experience! Umm, if it is simply System-infused atheist materialist humanist dreck it is all Hell anyway. No, the most valuable thing is data . You can tell with the obsession the rich and powerful have with it. You can see how much they want to keep on keepi...

The Jericho War

Image
I'd like to put up a brief post as just a follow-up to my last post about the millennia-long world war that wages interminably all about. In my devotional time this morning I was reading the passage that I think does the best in elucidating the ungrafted church's mentality and behavior in the face of the roiling evil that spews regularly from a fully Catholicized World . Here, I cannot go any further without sharing a good part of it with you: Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the ima...

The Lethal Deceit of Pride

Image
Here we are right in the middle of "Pride Month" and all who join in the celebration are oblivious to the gruesome lethality such an action carries with it. I'll never forget being in Salt Lake City for a professional commitment in the middle of June of 2018 and accidentally coming across a "Pride" parade, and while I was aghast at the breadth of immorality that was on display in this thing, it struck me that this was happening in Salt Lake City , bastion of Mormon morality and rightness and goodosity. Thing is this kind of pride not only destroys those who partake but those around them who absorb the ideas, the propaganda, the demonic nature of the now irreversibly pandemic endeavor. Many will say, "What does what we  do with our bodies have to do with you? " Many will even say, "What they  do with their own lifestyle choices is their business as long as they keep it to themselves." Any and all of these sentiments, from those who like it and...

The Oracle Soup

I was in Barnes and Noble tonight, doing the browsing thing which I love to do. I have a teacher's discount, so occasionally I'll pick up a book I'd like, as I did tonight. Couple of books caught my eye, and I may or may not read them. One was The Entitlement Cure  by John Townsend, who was quite the formidable influence on my young adult life, teaching me about bonding and boundaries. He's an extraordinarily wise man, and this latest looks like more of the same regarding something I've thought for quite some time. I did leaf through it a bit, though not much because I don't think it is quite right to read whole sections of a book that isn't purchased. The part I did see though confirmed what I thought. That when you think people owe you something, life is pretty miserable. Among those few words I caught were "entitlement pockets", meaning there are at least some  things we think we're owed no matter how gracious and deferential we are. I...

"Knocked OVER!"

The splendid film Despicable Me has a scene featuring little girls at an amusement park who play a shooting gallery game in order to win a big stuffed animal. The object is to knock over a spaceship zipping side to side. One of the girls makes a direct hit on the target, theoretically with enough force to score the prize. Alas, the ship does not fall back to indicate a full "knocked over" achievement. After asking for the eagerly expected animal, the barker explains very smugly that the target had to be knocked over for the prize to be awarded. The adoptive father of the girl, the "Despicable Me" character named Gru who is an expert with nefariously utilized weaponry, steps back, pulls out some elaborate multi-barreled rocket launcher, and then utterly obliterates the entire shooting gallery. The spaceship target disintegrates amongst the rubble. He then proudly proclaims, "Knocked over!" I've had a series of observations about things that remi...
