The Reality Just Isn't All That

Image
The current election pronouncements reveal a splendidly truthful thing postmodern philosophers posited years ago. The simulacra are more important than the reality . Postmodernists generally dismiss truthful things anyway as only so much power. Nothing is really truthful anyway, thus the simulacra become the reality . This is just a fancy term that refers to the reigning projections, or the embraced imageries of things people believe are real. Since there is no reality, the simulacra will do. Nothing could explain the current Biden-Harris-Democrat-Technocrat-Media falling all over themselves pretending to be president of the United States. It doesn't really matter who is president, he or she is and always has been under the authoritative instruction of Rome's deepest operative potentates anyway... but wow, is this a spectacle! Come on people! You can't beat this show! Just ride with it -- it is so much fun! You gotta admit: it is thrilling to feel like you've just clock...

Cancel Culture Eats Another of Its Own

Image
Bari Weiss, top opinion editor at The New York Times, resigned today. Why is this story so major? It is because apparently Weiss was striving to be a mitigating force against the marauding leftist spiritual violence that has devastated this country. It seems she too was on the side of many of those hifalutin people who were on board with this widely publicized letter in Harper's  all about dialing back the vitriol against anyone not at the farthest left flank of the ideological spectrum. These Harper's letter people were essentially saying "We must fight bad ideas with talking them out, and the cancel culture is keeping people from exercising their freedom of speech even if their ideas are repulsive." That was the idea anyway. It is a claim made by those on the right, also, this idea that "Let's just respect freedom of speech OKAY?!" There is a very pronounced problem with that, one that those on the left at least understand as misguided as the...

So Few Young People Get It, at Their Future's Peril

Image
I came across this from a mainstream news site, the conclusion to a brief response about the Brexit vote that the news site said was going viral on Twitter. It is the third point, but if you're wondering about the first two, don't worry, they're just as stupid as this one. I only share it to include some remarks, mostly because this kind of stuff is said to be so popular among young people today. Here it is. I'd like to address this to the author, "Nicholas," but I'd like to share this with any young person out there. Not all young people are like this, but sadly most are among today's GenXers fully captivated by the most insidious humanist dogma. The Jesuits are doing their job, most proficiently, and these saps don't even know it. They are your own young adult sons and daughters, but hey, if this applies to older adults who're simply on the same hallucinogens, then that's cool too. So, yeah, for "Nicholas" and all others...

The Unrighteousness Project

Image
There are a dozen things I've jotted down to blog about to introduce my latest home page writing , and maybe I'll get to them sometime this month, time permitting. But I simply cannot fail to mention yet another ludicrously foolish attempt to make the world ever-so wonderful. As an AP teacher I'm in an email forum, and often I get a good feel for what some of these teachers are thinking. All of it perfectly rational, some of it horrifically unrighteous. One guy fancies himself quite the muckraker, and while he does expose some solid things about the benighted ways of the World, most of his offered solutions are those typical silly proposals that contain some spectacular merit but a lot of blatant stupidity. Here is the one that just put me away, and you should be able to find the idiocy in and around the noble intentions. So that's it! All we have to do is just get our connectedness with technology and science jussst right, and get rid of all that ugly finance a...
