Today it seems everyone is raging in some manner over the congressional testimony of supreme public health mandarin Anthony Fauci. The most vitriolic seems to be coming from those who knew what was really going on with the Covid Hysteria as early as April 2020. I recently came across yet another list of all the horrors that institutionally manufactured hysteria brought about, it is there in that X post. Very true, very real, and very destructive. Recently excerpts from his diary emerged that reveal some of the things he was thinking and feeling at the time, so they asked him to appear in a very important looking hearing just this morning, and he basically appealed to saying nothing at all, which he did. Of course he did, anything he says would be used against him in a court of law and you know the rest of that. Everyone seems to be breathing a little slower now that the 250 TH ANNIVERSARY OF FREEDOM WITH LOTS OF EAR-SPLITTING EYE-BLINDING MIND-BLASTING EXPLOSIVES is over. Whew. The other day was an election day, when World Devotees may officially register their preference for the bully they think will make things good. I was at a polling location and I won't detail the circumstances but one of the poll volunteers at the front table discovered in that setting that I was a follower of Christ with some authoritative function (totally unrelated to the polling activity there, by the way). I didn't know her but we got to talking, and she shared quite a bit. From the heart. Recently a major professional sports player said some things that offended the woke hegemonic voices and forced their hand to proceed with the requisite cancellation. The team was holding one of its sadly now-quite-typical "Pride" celebrations, and he objected saying it was unrighteous. He did add that as a follower of Christ he could not in good conscience participate in such an event. Often players are expected to have rainbow-ish items added to their uniforms, and perhaps even spit up a good word about how much they respect the courage and experience of anyone embracing LGBTQ anything. I was listening to a fine John Lennox speech put into a podcast, and it was precisely about the thrust of my own web ministry . It was called "The Greatest Deception the World Has Ever Seen," and sure enough it focused on Jesus' warning in the 24th chapter of Matthew that there would be quite a few Jesuses out there people would believe upon all the way up to the end of the age. Finishing up some web reading I thought I'd direct your attention to David Bell's article over at Brownstone . It is really how the principle of Universal Basic Income is really just a form of murder. Read it, you'll see. On my social media a post reminded me of John Calhoun's work with mice. I don't know the details of this work, might be apocryphal, I don't know. But he put a community of mice in an environment where they had everything they wanted. Today out on my long walking loop in a very nice part of a town next to mine, I crisscrossed a very nice park and happened to stroll past three teenager-young-adult gentlemen. Each was wearing a white tank-top t-shirt, baggy shorts or khakis, had belts and maybe a chain or two on their hip if I remember. The one in the fedora was telling the other two, "My underwear is designer, my [some other clothing item I don't quite remember] is designer, my t-shirt is designer. Everything is designer, bro." I didn't pay any attention to anything else because I was walking pretty briskly, and I wasn't interested in prying. I thought about this and first felt this a great take on the truth that we are indeed all like that gentleman. We are all exhibitionist of some measure and it's nice to be seen as sporting the most fashionable something-or-another so we can be, well, considered .
