Today fine conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was shot dead at one of his very popular "Change My Mind" type college campus events. It was absolutely shocking news to most everyone -- so accomplished at such a young age, he got deep into the most visible platforms of the culture war discourse yet did so with graciousness and respect no matter who he spoke with or about. He did want to tell the truth about things, and yes, it may have pushed the boundaries of the Overton Window. Everyone will say something about why it happened, much of which is meaningless, really. Yesterday Google's Veo 3 was introduced, and it must be cited as a red-letter day. Now everyone will be doing what Tim Challies wrote about on the very same day. I'm currently reading the book Filterworld  with expansive details about a very real Truth Rule reality: There is no such thing as "A.I." Today is May 12, and that was the date two years ago that -- We knew. Any epidemiologically oriented individual with even an ounce of respect for truth, scientific acumen, data analysis skills, common sense, and deep appreciation for the economic considerations of the situation -- KNEW . This morning on the talk radio show I heard that 52% of the population are in favor of dissolving, dismissing, eliminating, forgiving all college student debt. 52%. I think there should be a law against paparazzi. It doesn't matter that too many celebrities are boorish ding-dongs,  no one  should ever have to endure a TMZ exposition, or really inquisition. It is inhumane, immoral, and just flat-out evil. Thing is it is very hard to have a law against someone taking a photograph of someone else. Oh there are such laws -- you may be sued if you use someone else's image for monetary gain without their permission. I still kind of wonder why that doesn't apply to paparazzi . Maybe celebrities just don't care and really do live by the Oscar Wilde mentality: "Worse than being talked about is not  being talked about."  My point is that for hundreds of years there was some kind of social prohibition against nosying into other people's lives. Wow is it intense! A lot of people really don't like Marjorie Taylor Greene! She is a new Republican congresswoman who has a few ideas that a lot of people reeeally  don't like. I have a confession to make. Too often I just can't see the forest through the trees. God blesses me tremendously to sit with me every morning and abundantly share His words with me, and then listen to my own heart when I praise Him and tell Him my concerns. On my long walk the other day I was ruminating on the contemptibly massive dissipation of the pretty decent things we've enjoyed for some time in this United States.
