The Modern-Day Baroque - The Nicest Window-Dressing Ever

Image
Do you remember in your college humanities class learning about the Baroque period, that time around the 1600s when everything belonging to the rich and powerful became garishly ornate? All the art, design, architecture, and music just got so much more decoratively entrancing. If you remember the details about why that all happened at that time, it was really all just part of the Counter Reformation, a way for the Roman Catholic Church to augment its performance art duties in the most attractive way it could. For if you remember the Reformation  Reformation, Rome noticed a lot of people reading the Bible and seeing God's Kingdom was nothing like what Rome told them it was. So, to rein them back in, Rome had to do something to make things more appealing, more dazzling, more compelling to keep them in the club and paying good money to keep the religious racket thriving.  All the spectacle of all that Rome has promoted through the centuries is no different than what happens in th...

Astroturfing the Best Devotion to Rome

Image
It has been a good week since I published my latest home page piece , and I usually don't wait this long to put up a blog post to mention it. But work has been busy, I've been worn out, and I've even caught something so I'm just laying low for the weekend. There were half-a-dozen things I thought about putting into a blog post to augment that home page effort . But I'll put it on hold for now. I'm just blogging to blog about it, direct your attention to it if you are interested, and I'll just get to other things later. Some of my reluctance to get too deeply into it is yet again relates to my feelings that after saying the same thing a hundred times yet looking out upon the wretched stupidity that still happens pretty much everywhere, well, you know. It does get very discouraging. Sometimes being relegated to a trollee is just not fun. I know I haven't got the readership to be much of an influencer, but I always pray that those who do come across my mini...

The Great Big Club Owns You

Image
Wait! I forgot to add a critical component of The Great Big Club George Carlin famously riffed on a number of years ago in his viral routine. In my last post I'd mentioned that all the rich and powerful people are in a big club and "You aren't in it." I'd added that the club is really the Roman Catholic Empire and that whether you like it, tolerate it, or revile it to the point of wanting to blow it up, you're in it if you aren't in The Kingdom instead.  The emphasis was on the fact that even if you are part of the noble crusade against the evil oppressive imperialist fascist hegemony, you are a Roman Catholic,  merely because you are being delightfully played to do all the resisting and rebelling and obsessively intoxicating revolutioning so many thrill to do because they absolutely despise having their concupiscence called out by any judgmentalist forces. And Rome is there to respond in kind. "Don't box me in, copper!" -- Rome gleefully re...

We All Though Really Just Really Really Want To Be In The Great Big Club

Image
I was listening to a Greg Koukl podcast interview with fellow apologist Tim Barnett and it was all about the "AI." Very good stuff, there is always something new to discover not just about what should be called SPIT (Superfast Processing Information Technology) but how people are thinking about it and more importantly being captivated by what the Romanist mandarins are doing with it. Tim brought up something about it that relates to the seriously entrenched echo chambers the whole chatbot obsession is creating -- perfectly what the Jesuits want to happen!  -- everyone just living comfortably in their own "cognitive universes," as another pundit called them.  One of the examples Tim shared was how some detractors will incessantly post the notion that Christianity was the most oppressive, imperialist, just-plain-rotten thing that ever happened, you know the trope. Tim added in his own web efforts Red Pen Logic  he has had to set the record straight with all the great ...

Floods, Addendum

Image
Just a quick note about my last post from a couple days ago.  I'd mentioned the catastrophic floods in central Texas with no intention of sharing that just to make a metaphor for some great spiritual truth. I'd even mentioned that in the blog post, even though I did talk about things related to simply not being prepared when it could very well be the case we could be. That severe weather event there could have been something that was indeed just a freak meteorological incident and all the warnings in the world could not have prevented the tragedy. There is so much to understand regarding that. I'd also heard, however, that there were protocols that could have been activated but were not, and because of that many lives could have been saved simply by having a more rigorous effort to evacuate when they could. There is so much to that as well, and why I'm posting again to say none of us know everything to know about what could or could not have happened. It is a very good...

Again I Feel Like I Am Just Trollee'ing

Image
I'd just put up a post about the devastation that is the massive global migrant movement program, one that is arranged specifically to destabilize entire countries including the United States. Again I've realized there is so much to these machinations, much of it wholly disunderstood by the World Devotee. It is so much that I simply cannot publish a post that, while it does indeed contain some of those truths, I feel I simply cannot do the subject justice. If for the four hours the post was up some readers found it and discovered Christ and Kingdom out of it, wonderful. That's the entire point. As it is I can direct you do a home page piece I posted in my webzine a number of years ago, here it is , and there I also issued a disclaimer about the difficulties with addressing the subject. I think I did okay with what I shared, which is ultimately that there is a World System legitimately governed by whichever Caesar is in place at the time, doing the work of Cain's Legacy ...

The 6,000-Year Stupid Run, Addendum

Image
Just saw a post from a decent economist about how working men are vanishing. He pointed out today 1 in 7 men have pretty-much checked out and are doing nothing. Being homeless, sitting in the basement playing video games, whatever thing not engaged in a single meaningfully productive effort of any kind. In 1950 that number was 1 in 40. I mention this because I concluded my last post with a mention of Joy Pullman's piece about the twisting around of male-female innate roles, responsibilities, duties, and just how much that has destroyed our society. This little factoid from the economist is testament to the wicked product this present ugly reality. I pondered what I shared in my last post , just about that distressing concept generally known as stupidity , still thinking about Jesus warning against calling anyone a fool. But the fact is Scripture talks about the distinction between wisdom and folly all the time . Very required, really. We are all so very stupid. So yeah, not an issu...

It Has Been About 6,000 Years You Know, At Least

Image
I have given up seeing if people can really truly be wise, at least without some substantive help from God. That effort itself is a fool's errand.  The more I hear and listen and read and hear from people who sound really smart and think they are saying really smart things -- but then are actually really stupid, the more amazed I am that we've had some 6,000 years at least to be at least a little bit not-stupid. So much time to get it right, how in 6,000 years can so many still be so stupid. ::Sigh:: But then, it is biblical.  Scripture very clearly says everyone is as stupid as a rock. I know I have been, and when I go into that sickening denial mode, it is worse. In fact, it is sin, flat-out. About 10, 15 years ago I was driving in the morning to my work, which was then about 30 minutes away. I did what I sometimes did, and what I still do every once in a while but not too often these days because what is spewed there is almost always so agonizingly stupid -- I tuned into NP...

The Most Servile Obedience to the Understanding

Image
Scouring a few of the things widely blapped out there as I do for a bit each day, I came across this  from Eric Weinstein, speaking about something Mike Benz talked about, shared in a podcast called Modern Wisdom  and reposted over at ZeroHedge. ::Whew:: Nkay, here's what he said: "(T)he rules-based international order (is) an interlocking of agreements, tacit understandings, explicit understandings, and clandestine understandings about how the most important structures keep the world free of war and keep markets open." This was shared with a lot of other pontificating about deep-state activity along with a pretext that Donald Trump has been disrupting the uni-party status quo... annnnnd all those who are right up there in charge of valiantly trying to uphold the "understandings" are getting a bit nervous. No they're not. Not at all, not in any way. As long as there is a nation full of rich full-blooded card-carrying Roman Catholicists out there who'll f...

Messing With The Economy is Always a Great Way for Tyrants to Virtue-Signal

Image
I simply have to direct you to this article over at ZeroHedge , one that comprehensively lays out the ironclad economic laws related to price controls. There are a number of things that should be augmented to make this idea much more clear. First , note all the imaginative ways value assignments have been messed with in the worst ways. For forty centuries leaders with their hands on the reins of the economy try to show how blangdanimously magnanimous they were by effing with the transcendent value assignments, valid value assessments, and vibrant economic interactions of their people. So many different ways to do it each with their own spiffy sounding names! I mean who could be against something where we all "commune" with one another -- so much more wholesome! Today that takes the form of printing up dollars and handing them to irresponsible people, or yes, to exploited people who've been effed with by government decree such as what public officials did with the Covid hy...

The Critical Financial Component of the Boss Troll War

Image
Recently an interview response by the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors for the president of the United States went viral. It was only a couple minutes long, this take by Jared Bernstein, and it was essentially this: Question: "Why does the United States government have to borrow its own currency?" Answer: "Um, well, err, umm, I mean, hmm, urrp, umm, blippity-blappity-oopy. [Long pauses throughout]." He was mercilessly ridiculed by the legion of trollees remarking quite viciously throughout the cybersphere, and as I sometimes do I will look at the comments and see if anyone gets it. Most times they don't, by miles. Most people like to post thinking they are blapping about how genius they are but they are only demonstrating how ill-informed or just plain stupid they are themselves. Well, I shouldn't call people fools. No matter how many billions there are of them, I really shouldn't. But they are indeed exploited by the System Ops to be such. A...
