The Shining Factor, Part II

Yesterday in introducing my current home page piece at my webzine, I wrote a bit about the film The Shining, which was on cable television as it is just about once every two or three months. I took a peek at it for a bit to remark about a simple truth, indeed one of those Truth Rules that are so easily dismissed but can be much more readily identified if people were to use their God-given intuition more.

That Truth Rule: Stupidity is evil.

One reason it is sloughed off so much is that many tend to give the Stupid a pass on their foolishness. Hey, they spout, they're stupid, they don't know any better. This extraordinarily common attitude is not only just as evil, but it seems to be more and more prominent out there in what should be some kind of dignified civil society.

While it is true that it does take some work to have a bit of wisdom, as well as the much more difficult task of identifying one's own stupidity so it may be addressed, the key is seeking deliverance from the supernatural, specifically from that Individual who is the Only One from whom a stupid person may find liberation from their dissipation -- as well as the swath of destruction the Stupid leaves in his wake.

Part of the Truth Rule, however, is that the Stupid are encouraged by those malevolent forces that work 24/7 to influence the Stupid and propel their foolish lethality. In The Shining the intuitive ability to see all that at work is held by a couple of characters, one of whom is Dick Hallorann, a sort of Messiah figure in the film who knows, he knows -- this is why I included the screenshot here. He is on a plane to Denver and you can tell he knows what is going on at the Overlook Hotel, and he feels he's got to go help, maybe even to do something to save these people. He even finds a way to get through the hell of snowpacked terrain to make it there. (Spoiler alert) He arrives only to be murdered by Jack Torrance who has by this time been fully possessed by that resident supernatural evil.

In my homepage piece I did not mention one of Carlos Cipolla's four categories of people, the Stupid being among them. The one I didn't mention was the Bandit. One could say that the Stupid is dumb evil, while the Bandit is smart evil. A bit of a simplification, indeed, it can't be denied that the Bandit is the evil we more easily recognize. Not going to get into it too much here, except to make this main point for this post.

Jesus talked about the supernatural influences on these people all the time.

I say this because it is clear that much of the dismissal of both the Stupid and the Bandit comes from a materialist, humanist, atheist idea that there is no such thing as the devil. Yes there has always been a lot of talk out there about devil = evil, yeah yeah. It is my consideration that most don't actually believe it.

They are too given over to the Epicurean in them, the idea that it is perfectly fine to spout about "devils" and "angels" and "heaven" and all that stuff, but just don't go about saying it is actually real or anything or you'll just look like a fool. You can say you believe in those fantasies, that's cool, we'll all humor you, but if you go about telling people they should believe in some god who isn't there or they'll go to a bad place if they don't, well, you're dangerous.

The fact is, Jesus talked about that stuff all the time. As very real things that affect the temporal world quite profoundly. Read the gospel accounts, please, get into them so you know precisely what Jesus said about the supernatural.

He confronted demons a lot. Demons spoke back to Him, a lot. He drove them out of people's bodies, a lot. He spoke about their power, a lot. They knew He was God all the time and He told people if you rid yourself of demons but don't replace them with Him, many more will come in to you and make things horrifically worse.

I can't neglect to add this note about the Epicurean philosophy that is as demonic as anything. It was invented and propagated by Rome. Much of the dismissal of those powers and principalities working to destroy lives comes from the philosophical virulence of World System ops who soak society with, yes, the most stupid things for people to believe.

One of the latest renditions is this thing "deconstructing your faith." The idea is presently put out by well-meaning and often very Christian-minded people who say you should break down the elements of your belief in God and Christianity to really see if it is worth it. First of all having a vibrant abiding open relationship with God who is always sharing and teaching and correcting and embracing even when we have questions and doubts is a very good thing.

But this particular thing is taking the idiotic views of the "deconstructionists," those who've claimed there is no way you can get through the limitations of language to really know anything -- never mind they are using language to get that idea across -- and applying it to the things we can truly know about God and a dozen other critically important things He's given us. Justice, mercy, law, righteousness, reconciliation, salvation, creation, Heaven, Hell, judgment, grace, forgiveness, sovereignty, charity and more are very good things -- including, Ta-Da!, not-being-stupid (better known as wisdom) and intuition (in the Christian sense known as discernment).

Once again, here is my latest home page piece, with a bit more about how Romanist agents scattered in every corner of our world will employ the newest spiffiest technology to essentially work at making anyone who wants it beholden to the not-so-nice supernatural. Here again is the link to the previous blog post from yesterday, "The Shining Factor."

As I think about it, it is why things like The Shining are so compelling, it is not hard to see how gruesome it is for someone to fall under the spell of those malevolent forces. How much more hypnotizing it is when spectacular images, seductive sounds, and scintillating messages are streamed through whatever device can wrap itself around your heart, mind, and soul.

But wow, how amazing it is for God to give His life so we could be delivered from that hell. From the real Hell. Jesus Himself even said if we aren't His, we're the devil's. We have no excuse -- if we've given ourselves over to be the Stupid or the Bandit in his service, we are held responsible.

But He also assured us He is far stronger than he is. That if we did want to be truly, actually, fully delivered from that, He'd do it.

He loves us enough to make it happen.

Turn on your intuition, go ahead, crank it up to "11," so you can see it, and have it -- and have Him.
