A Nation Under the Influence

Back in the early to mid-1900s when the best Frankfurt School instructors started loudly pontificating about all the ways the exploited and oppressed can be used as tools for greater authoritarian hegemonic rule -- in the name of the grandest virtue-signaling, of course -- one of the most critical weapons they knew they needed to expropriate was the means of communication through the most watched mass media channels.

You can see the effects of this now quite successful commandeering in the whole Olympics thing. It is presumed that just about everyone watches the Olympics. I know there are a few who don't, and I happen to be one of them.

Just to share, the last time I watched any of it was in 1976, and I do confess it was fun to see people like Nadia Comaneci and Bruce Jenner do the things they did. I just happened to enjoy (again the video put up on social media so I couldn't not look) watching cap-wearing Dave Wottle's comeback run for the gold in that long track race in the 1972 games. Again, I really liked it then when I was a kid, when it just seemed the games were respectable, modest, decent.

Since then I have watched absolutely zero Olympic anything. Yes there have been times when I watched when I had to, when family literally insisted I sit and watch with them, and even then it was very rarely and never more than five minutes of anything. And of course it shows up on televisions in restaurants and those kinds of things, but it means nothing to me. I pay no attention to any of it whatsoever.

The reasons are numerous, besides the plain fact that none of it is interesting to me, it just isn't, at all.

One, when host countries started kicking out other countries and their athletes for perceived political violations, really starting there in 1980, I was done. This year I believe Russia was kicked out for the whole Ukraine thing, but again I'm just not sure because I don't care. But if so, then there you go. Why can't you compete against the very best athletes from Russia?

Two, the emphasis on United States athletes. I do understand the US audience wants US homering, that's fine, but it just bugs. Most of the telecasts are made up of smarmy grandstanding about someone and far too little actual competitive events. What about this or that athlete from another country? How about just plain showing much more of their events? I know they may be able to do more of it with streaming and such, and they do sometimes showcase the better athletes from other countries, but the US homering just grates on me. Hey, there's an amazing event between athletes from Uganda and Sweden! Let's watch that! That should be on prime time! Nope.

Three, the watering down of the whole competition. I'd say a good 90% of the people think adding underwater turnip-twaddling and the 57,000 other newer events is a good thing. Don't get me wrong, popping up on social media I happened to catch some gal tossing about a ball while doing all kinds of gymnastic moves on a mat. She was amazing. Great. Still, not the Olympics. Me, I just liked it when there was mainly track & field, swimming & diving, and gymnastics. A few others were intriguing, that's cool.

But wait! What about my unmatched ability to pick my nose in record time?! Why aren't they including that? What do they have against me and my story? Bigots!

See, it just gets to be preposterous. It is just all so stupid, trying to please anyone who can perform some kind of peculiar physical feat. This leads to another of my reasons, probably the most justified of all.

The wokeness that has wickedly invaded the whole thing.

Where do we start. The opening ceremonies were reviled the world around because of its performance art comprised of drag queen type performers doing weird sick things. Many say they were ridiculing the painting "The Last Supper," others felt it was just a representation of a painting of Dionysus-worshipping revelers. Either one, it is precisely what Rome wants, it is precisely what they wanted depicted. Much of that was so many of its religious faithful would indeed go crazy in social media, would indeed be the best trollees they could be, for the expressed purpose of giving more legitimacy to Rome as the bastion of good wholesome goodness everywhere.

So there is the religionist trolling.

Then there is the racialist trolling. I just saw on the news a gymnast was disqualified for something she did not do in her routine. Her foot was thought to have touched a bad part of the mat or something, but it didn't. No medal for her, and because she was a white athlete it turned out the podium then featured an all-black grouping, gold-silver-bronze.

Even so, why is the news? Why is anyone who is an influencer making such a big deal out of it being "all-black"? So what? Of course detractors have been trained really well in the Frankfurt School arts of derision that I'm not "woke" enough, that I'm not fully aware of the black people's stories of this bad thing or that bad thing that makes all this so special. Sorry, excuse me, but that's the racist position here. Sorry Ibram X. Kendi, the real "anti-racist" position is to be proud of any athlete's accomplishments irrespective at all of their skin color. To draw more attention to this skin-color thing or that skin-color thing is the not-anti-racism.

Then there was the sodomist trolling, quite ugly in this instance. Two guys in the main boxing event for the gold in women's boxing. Um, yeah. When called out about men-pretending-to-be-women's successes slugging women to get to the medal round, a high-up-there Olympics official said it was hard to tell who was who as far as their sex goes. Oh my.

First of all, all boxing should be banned period. I know the sport is popular, as well as things like mixed-martial arts, but it is beyond stupid that two people could get into the ring or a cage and beat the shit out of each other. Ahem, if I went up to some asshole who richly deserves it and did the very same thing to him, I'd go to jail. Should I gather a few people to watch and charge them $20 to enjoy it? Would that make it okay?

It is one of the worst widely sanctioned hypocrisies on the planet.

A while back pro football superstar Michael Vick was penalized, by the government and the NFL -- banned from the game for a number of years -- for having animals fight one another. Please know I too am not great with that kind of thing, I think it is wrong. But I can't see how he was so severely punished while others get millions of dollars for doing just that themselves so long as they're in a big auditorium with cameras all around.

Here's the even greater injustice: That we allow women to do it. Whether it is boxing or MMA, that our society has allowed women to beat the shit out of each other is beyond reprehensible. Even if women say they want to do it and they are very okay with it and we are yelled at for the need to be inclusive and tolerant and not sexist and all the rest of it -- it should be against the law.

How on earth have we all become so indecent?

How contemptible it is that we've so gruesomely dismissed half of the world's population, now not even considering there is a true definition of who they truly are as human beings?

And this is precisely why those healthy social constructs must remain in place and upheld and respected like crazy, so that morons like that guy who said he couldn't tell could tell. And that maybe there would be a chance we'd get back to a time when the healthy objective God-established social mores would be honored, inherent man-woman distinctions would be valued as they truly should be, and our world wouldn't be collapsing.

It may already be gone under the weight of the still marauding and incessantly successful destabilization policies that Rome is propelling, as it always has. In many profound ways it is chiefly about the influence. The Olympics thing is just one fine example of how much influence people who are given the reins of communication technology can have.

Right now Democrat party presidential candidate Kamala Harris knows this all too well. Everyone knows she is in way over her head, and she knows it too by abjectly refusing to address key questions about her policies and campaign. What is worse is because of that extraordinarily pronounced Frankfurt School-generated mentality woven into everything it is certain that she knows she'll get a lot of support from people simply because she is a "woman of color." That counts for a lot these days -- except I thought women didn't really exist?...

What a twisted world we live in right now.

Even so none of that matters as much as the confidence she has using gleefully chippy influencers and spiffily spaffy performance art to snatch up the support she needs.

Already she's used CGI technology to put fake crowds around her and send those images out to make it look like she is more popular than she is. She's asked rock-star musicians to come perform at her events to draw big crowds. What is worse is she has identified as many of the most prominent social media influencers as she can and is paying them well to put out specific talking points through their social media videos.

Wow. Just how much astroturfing you could do now with a lot of money and the communication technology the Frankfurt School dudes from 60, 70 years ago could only dream of.

I just wonder, will this effort really succeed? Will there be enough people attracted to all the splashy influencing streams that we'll continue to have US governance inject the most heinous public policy initiatives into the mainstream? More climate change hysteria destruction. More sodomist-driven exhibitions and prosecutions of those who object. More racialist browbeating at schools and workplaces. More communities irreparably damaged by refusal to insist on some kind of moral responsibility among their members. More evisceration of livelihoods through government's now obsessive modern monetary theory-oriented decision-making. More loud unchecked saber-rattling around the globe that is already killing thousands and could very well turn into World War III.

Please don't get me wrong. Donald Trump can be just as wretched. In trying to try to show he is more moderate as he is pulled leftward by the more extreme leftist agenda blappings, he has ferociously announced he will really do nothing to try to restrict abortions. He has even been goaded into viciously disavowing anything in the Heritage Foundation's "Project 2025," which is actually just a reasonable set of political proposals that conservatives favor, some of the substance of which is in his own published policy positions.

As much as Trump is the beloved political figure of so many brave flag-waving patriots USA! USA! MAGA forever! -- he is still a tool, still so susceptible to the dictates of the influencers, who are themselves influenced by the hifalutin academia and celebrated media people, who are themselves influenced by so many other deep-state operatives not just in government but in powerful corporation and pressure group interests, who are themselves influenced by... by...

Do you know?

Furthermore are you being influenced by the One who actually does have your very best interests in mind? Are you reading His words all the time, prayerfully and corporately with other committed disciples? Are you being assured that He already has everything under His control and your very soul in His mighty grip no matter what?

Who are you being influenced by?

Just something to keep thinking about.

To keep asking Him to share with you about.
