It is Grand Mythology Month Once Again

In my web surfing this morning I came across a post from someone linking to this movie scene. It is from Margin Call, a film that came out a scant three years after the latest major financial crisis in 2008. I'd blogged on it already a few times before. They'd linked to it with a remark something along the lines of Here we go again...

The scene is easily one of the most horrifying scenes anyone could behold. No, there are no wild knife-slashings and gushing blood-spewings, there are no roundhouse kicks to heads with teeth flying about, there are no machine gun rounds being unloaded onto evil gorks or dorks or orcs -- oh yeah that's what the ugly evil dudes are called in Lord of the Rings -- as the victims' bodies gyrate to the impact of the bullets smacking against them.

No, what makes the scene so harrowing is that all the perpetrators are wearing spiffy $1,000 suits sitting pleasantly though quite uncomfortably in a big-city office-building high-floor plush meeting room, and they speak with the niftiness eloquence -- their financialese top-notch. Their victims are out-of-sight, nameless, silent.

They are murderers, and their lethal activity is not only all smothered in the pukifying excesses of reputation and ingratiation, but it is all enabled by the people who do the business of Cain's Legacy perched in their authoritative governing ivory towers.

The real horror is that it is all done in the name of freedom. That Americanist freedom that has "the American Dream" written all over it. You know, all the constitutional freedoms of speech and belief and the economic freedoms of ownership and profession and all the rest of it.

Those things are nice, don't get me wrong, I like freedom kinds of things.

But this scene bursts with the truth that no matter how much we think we are free -- free to be as smart as we can about how hard we can work in order to be as financially well-off as we can be --

We're not.

We are always enslaved. Rich poor left right black white up down nice mean man woman straight narrow tall short smart dumb young old thick thin wise foolish it doesn't matter what kind of human being you are, you're enslaved.

This is why this day, this June 19th, which just a few years ago at the height of the racialist explosion in this country was made into some kind of super-duper special holiday, is just another System-generated way to keep people bound. It isn't as much about showing off how proudly you think about some Union general telling slaves in Texas that they were finally free, as it is today shouting at people that they are unbearably racist and they'd better do something about it.

Then again, what am I saying against it? Really, this "Juneteenth" commemoration should be a very good thing! Because like the scene from Margin Call, "Juneteenth" should be a clarion call how evil each one of us is in the depths of our hearts. Yeah! You go Great Grand Racialist Mythology! You tell it like it is!

You are enslaved to the tyranny of your own sin.

And just like they show in Margin Call it doesn't matter how gussied up and perfumed it is, it is still the foulest reeking shit there is.

Again what makes the whole thing even more wickedly malodorous is the System wants you to address that by doing more things the System wants you to do. All the law enforcement engagement and therapy opportunities and expansive tribute payments and community organizing and social media immersion and even the very smarmiest virtue-signaling religious ceremonies - Hey lookit me showing how much I'm into the whole Juneteenth thing! Lookit how NOT-RACIST I am! Woo-hoo don't hurt me okay?!

There are so many ways the System keeps you enslaved to the System, and to yourself. But hey, being sent out of the presence of God Himself all those millennia ago, you gotta give them credit, it is all they know.

Jesus says something very different.

He says Lose yourself. Don't try to gain the world because you won't get it, AND you'll lose yourself. You're enslaved anyway, take My yoke instead. The burden is light. Be a slave to the Holy Spirit, then you'll have true freedom.

So yeah, Juneteenth, what will you do with that? Pretend you're free from all those world and flesh and Hell things to which we are still enslaved, striving reeeal hard to believe the World Ops and what they say about how free you should feel?

Or will you ask Jesus to set you free? For the real actual freedom. As the Russian proverb says, "It is better to be slapped with the truth than to be kissed with a lie."

"There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who stirs up conflict in the community." (From the sixth chapter of Proverbs)
